What to Expect

Going to “church” can be a bad experience if you don’t know what to expect. We want you to know what our church is like.

  • We try to be real. We’re really not trying to “put on a show” for you.
  • Dress is unimportant to us. Wear jeans or shorts. Wear a suit or nice dress. It’s not an issue here.
  • Blend in. We won’t point you out to everybody as a visitor.
  • Our pastor is addicted to caffeine, so we have plenty of coffee … along with other drinks and some light snacks. (We also have kids’ drinks and snacks for the little ones)
  • If you have kids, we have a nursery for ages birth – 3rd birthday. Kids 3 and up can participate in “The Quest Express” Kids’ ministry during worship. We have a “Kids’ Space” in our main worship area where kids can draw, color, etc. On 5th Sundays we have something called “All Ages Worship,” where kids, teens, and adults all worship together the entire time (nursery is still available).
  • Our worship gathering lasts about 90 minutes (10:30 am – 12 noon).
  • Our worship is multi-sensory and participatory. A band leads our worship/singing. We sing all kinds of songs – everything from ancient hymns to contemporary worship music. We use a lot of symbolism (crosses, candles, etc) in worship. We have various “stations” around our room where you can do things like write out a prayer need, spend time in private prayer, journal or draw/paint, take communion, give an offering, etc.
  • Participate in worship as you wish. We’re not going to “make” you do anything.
  • We have communion every week. This is a time when you are offered the opportunity to remember Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection by eating bread and drinking juice. If you’re not sure what communion is, we explain it. If you don’t feel comfortable participating, we respect that. You can spend time reflecting, singing, or visiting some of our “stations” during communion time.
  • Sermons/messages are from the Bible and relevant to the ups and downs of everyday life.
